Outdoor adventures are possible!

Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers is a nonprofit group that makes hunting and fishing adventures available for children, young adults, and veterans who live with life threating illnesses and/or life limiting disabilities. We are a “can do” organization that through experience and specialized equipment can cater to a large group of individuals who believed they did not have the ability to hunt or fish.  

At Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers we are building a family!  When the adventure is complete the relationships are not.  We strive to stay connected with our participants.  Though the experience of the adventure is important, it is the continued friendships that measure our success. 

Our adventures come at no cost to our participants or their families.  Due to the specialized needs of these individuals, we only work with qualified hunting lodges and fishing charters.  The safety of all involved in our adventures is number one!

Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers' annual adventures.

These are our annual adventures that we have been recognized for.  These events allow individuals who live with illness or disabilities to experience the outdoors.  Showing these individuals that they CAN achieve anything they set their minds to without letting life’s struggles slow them down. 

  • American Heroes Spring Turkey Hunt

    This hunt is to honor our American service men and women who have protected our country.

  • Friends of MOW Memorial Hunt

    This is our Fall whitetail hunt for children and young adults. This is a memorial event to remember our past hunters that are no longer with us.

  • Big Lake Fish Charters

    Let us introduce you to fishing on beautiful Lake Michigan. These events are held during the summer and benefit children, young adults, and veterans.

  • American Veterans' Whitetail Hunt

    Much like our memorial hunt except that this hunt is for our military veterans. This event is just a small token of appreciation for their service.

    My son Clayton was selected to go on a whitetail hunt by the Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers. They took incredible care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The most amazing thing for me are the men who run the foundation. They feed you, hunt with you, but most importantly they truly care about you and your story. Building relationships with the hunters is their top priority. Fostering that relationship after the event is over is just as important to them. We truly feel like part of the Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers' family.

    I am 30 years old and was born with Spinal Bifida which requires me to use a wheelchair. I was blessed to hunt with Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers in the Fall of 2020. They were amazing and help me in more ways then I'll ever be able to repay, and they continue to help me. On the trip I was nervous about how I was going to be able to hunt. The part I remember most is getting nervous and doubting myself, but the guys would tell me "Kyle don't worry, you will be able to hunt. You just need to work smarter not harder to accomplish this goal." Now I use that concept when I try new things instead of assuming I can't do something. It was an amazing experience I will never forget.

    My Son Kyler was blessed with a weekend full of fun by the Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers, and what a huge blessing it has been! Kyler hasn't stopped talking about the deer he harvested which he named "Mr. Wonderful" since the hunt. This blessing goes even further as close family and friends tracked and followed the events and passed info on to others, thereby blessing them as well. Kyler and I literally had the time of our lives with these guys. We would give the Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers 5 stars and recommend them to anyone who wants an outdoor dream to come true.

    Our family's involvement with Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers has been nothing short of life changing. My son, Benji, has had the desire to go hunting since he was a small child. We didn't think it would ever be possible given his disability, but Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers made it happen. The much deeper gift was the fellowship, community, and belonging that Benji experienced during the hunt and afterwards. Benji was welcomed into a group of friends whom he admires and respects and it has made all of the difference in the world to him and our family. These outdoor experiences are given at no cost to the individuals.  We fund these adventures through the generous donations and fundraisers of our sponsors, supporters, and followers.  Due to the medical and specialized needs of our participants we only work with qualified hunting lodges and fishing charters.  We also provide food, and any other necessary gear needed for these trips, and some other adventure related gifts.  If you or you know anyone that would be interested in assisting us in our mission by donating, please select the button below to connect to our Venmo account or send a check or money order to:
